Grading Criteria & Course ExpectationsThis page offers Guidelines for Course Expectations as well as Grading Criteria and Philosophy. The Guidelines for Course Expectations provides a useful guide for planning out the appropriate distribution of course hours, and are helpful in determining requirements for reading, writing and word processing, and test preparation. The Grading Criteria and Philosophy document provides helpful criteria to guide our faculty's grading of student papers and assignments. This information in this document should be included in the syllabus as well.
Benjamin Bloom's TaxonomyThis page offers an overview of Bloom's Taxonomy and provides useful links to information about this learning model. Some of the material included in the Grading Criteria and Philosophy document reflects Benjamin Bloom's Taxonomy. Please familiarize yourself with this model, designing your course material in such a manner to engage students at each of the six levels presented.
