Career & Ministry Opportunities
The M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy prepares students to practice as a licensed marriage and family therapist in:
- Private practice
- Community mental health centers/clinics
- Stage agencies
- Various other professional settings
Our graduates are also able to pursue credentialing in family life education and serve as a specialist in family ministries within a church, parish-based counseling practice, parachurch or pastoral counseling agencies, or any other service setting requiring relationship and family expertise.
The required course work in Bethel Seminary's M.A.M.F.T. program meets all academic requirements for licensure as a marriage and family therapist in the state of Minnesota and most other states. However, additional supervised clinical practice and the passing of a licensing examination are typically needed to obtain actual licensure.
