You’ve been called to take the gospel into other cultures, but are you prepared to minister in places where nothing is familiar, where your comfort zone is stretched beyond the max?

Our Master of Arts in Global and Contextual Studies is specifically crafted for cross-cultural ministry—because when you’re called to kingdom service in another culture, you must understand that culture and love its people.

We prepare students for a variety of ministry settings and missions-based careers—leading to informed and effective communication of the Christian message, whether overseas or among the growing ethnic populations within the United States.

Our goal is that all students in the program will:

  • Grow intellectually. Working in cross-cultural ministries requires an informed understanding of the cultures and belief systems of others, as well as deep theological grounding in the Christian faith.
  • Gain new perspectives towards people of other cultures, races, and faiths—those characterized as positive, affirming, accepting—thus creating an environment for more effective ministry.
  • Develop skills critical for working within communities such as problem solving, conflict resolution, leadership, and team building.
  • Grow spiritually. In the midst of their studies, students can lose their sense of closeness to God. We make it a priority to enable our students to develop personally and spiritually in their walk with the Lord.
