In the 1960's, we started dreaming about bringing seminary education to the dense and diverse populations in the Northeast Corridor of the U.S.—a type of education that would focus on church-based discipleship in local communities.
Today, Bethel Seminary has locations in New England and Washington D.C. that do just that. Students continue to live in close proximity to their ministry setting while they earn their seminary degree through teaching centers in local churches.
Our programs focus on getting students into real-world experience and building skills that directly translate to their ministry. Each student also works with a mentoring team of ministry practitioners—giving them encouragement as they grow in their spirituality, character, and leadership abilities.
