Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of the frequently asked questions regarding seminary housing. If you’re not sure about one of the answers below or you have a question not answered here, please contact Joy Genung, housing coordinator

1.     When can I apply for seminary housing?

Accepted and current students are eligible for seminary housing.

2.     How do I apply?

Current students and students who have been accepted to Bethel Seminary can apply for housing through Blink (Student Services tab > Housing channel). You'll need to have your Bethel Community Account to access Blink and apply for housing.

If you've applied to Bethel but haven't been accepted, you can apply as soon as you've been accepted.

3.     Is there a waiting list?

Some apartments/locations fill more quickly than others. If your requested option is full, you can choose to be put on a waiting list.

4.     When can I move in?

Move-in and move-out times can be coordinated to your convenience with the Housing Coordinator.

5.     How long is a lease?

Your lease will run from the day you move in through June 30 of the following year. If you are continuing as a student, you will have the option to renew your lease each spring.

6.     Can I end my lease early?

Yes. A 45 days notice is required.

7.     Is there a security deposit and is it refundable?

A half-month’s rent is required for your security deposit at least two weeks before you move in. Your deposit will be returned to you, with interest, if you: give 45 days notice, don’t have outstanding loans at Bethel, and leave the apartment in good condition. If you place a deposit and do not move in, your deposit will be forfeited.

8.     What is included in the apartments?

They come with all kitchen appliances (stove, oven, and refrigerator) and a storage closet

9.     What is included in the rental amount?

The rental amount includes heat, water, landline phone, Internet, basic cable TV, garbage, personal storage locker, and parking. Fountain Terrace apartments also include electricity and a shuttle service to campus.

10.  What utilities are not included in the rental amount?

Electricity is not included for Seminary Village residents.

11.  Are laundry facilities available?

Yes, each floor has coin operated washers and dryers.

12.  Are pets allowed?

No pets are allowed.

13.  What school district are you located in, and is there school bus pick up available?

We are in the Moundsview School District and there is school bus pick-up. The elementary school is Valentine Hills, the middle school is Highview, and the high school is Moundsview.

14.  If I’m single can I request a certain roommate?

Yes, if you both request one another and neither of you have a roommate. Otherwise, we assign you to an apartment with a roommate.

15.  If I’m single do I have to have a roommate?

No, we have several efficiency and one-bedroom apartments. If you want a two-bedroom without a roommate, you are responsible for the full rent.

16.  Do you have childcare facilities on campus?

Yes, we have a child development center located on campus (fee required) in one of our apartment buildings.

17.  Do you have dining facilities?

Yes, at the college there are dining options.

18.  Do you have garages available?

Garages are available at our Fountain Terrace apartments to rent for a monthly fee.

19.  How close are the apartments to the seminary?

Seminary Village is approximately one block from the seminary. Fountain Terrace apartments are located 1.5 miles from campus.

20.  Can I tour an apartment?

Yes. Contact Seminary Admissions or the Housing coordinator.

21.  Is rent paid with my tuition?

No, rent is a separate item, and it is due the 1st of each month.

22.  Where do I pay my rent?

Rent payments are accepted at the Business Office or over the phone with a credit card.
