Bethel Seminary St. Paul
A new mom was asked what surprised her most about parenthood. She replied: “It’s so daily.”
She’s right. Close relationships require regular attention and commitment. That’s why every church and each Christ follower must intentionally make strengthening relationships—family, church, and community relationships—a campaign of daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly focus. If we don’t, we will be in danger of losing the most important crucible God uses to shape lives: life in community with His people.
This year’s Transforming Church Initiative offers resources to individuals, churches, and ministry agencies to heighten awareness, deepen understanding, and provide guideposts to foster robust family, church, and community relationships. Keynote speakers Jack and Judy Balswick, nationally and internationally acclaimed teachers on the topics of marriage and the family, will present three plenary sessions.
Breakout sessions, led by gifted specialists from Bethel Seminary and the larger community, will address a series of pressing family and ministry issues: enriching marriages; healing from abuse and other problems; supporting singles and blended families; using technology wisely; and building church and community relationships. Continuing education credits are available for counseling professionals.
The day will provide an abundance of practical resources and will prompt individuals and ministry teams to ask, “Are we doing all we can to strengthen ourselves, individuals, and families in our congregations and our local communities?” The cause is vitally important. The benefits of strong family, church, and community relationships cannot be overstated. The applications to ministry and life are multifaceted.
We are so excited about what this day will mean for all who attend. Make it a priority for your own life and ministry!
