Singleness All of us have been, are, or will be single at some
point in our lives. Singleness in all its varieties provokes mixed
responses in our faith communities: we agree, at least in theory, with
the apostle Paul that it is a gift; however, we seem to go to great
lengths to avoid receiving this particular gift and aren't always sure
how to incorporate single persons fully into the life of the community.
In this session, we will look at the gifts and challenges of singleness (whether voluntary or involuntary), particularly the experiences of single parents of all ages and the importance of passion and intimacy for singles. |
