Bethel's holdings of print and non-print materials may be identified by searching the CLICnet library catalog. The catalog contains holdings information for Bethel Seminary's St. Paul, San Diego, and Seminary of the East campus libraries, Bethel University Library, and the other CLIC libraries.

  • Academic Search Premier (Full-Text)
    This database contains indexing for nearly 8,050 publications, with full text for more than 4,600 of those titles. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable references are provided for more than 1,000 titles. Academic Search Premier contains full text coverage in biology, chemistry, education, engineering, humanities, physics, psychology, religion and theology, sociology, etc.

  • AgeLine (some full-text)
    Contains detailed summaries of publications about older adults and aging, including books, journal and magazine articles, research reports, and videos.

  • The ATLA Religion Database (includes some Full-Text)
    The ATLA Religion Database is a comprehensive database designed to support religious and theological scholarship in graduate education and faculty research. The databasecontains citations from international titles and 13,000 multi-author works in and related to the field of religion. It also includes a full range of index citations to journal articles, essays in multi-author works, and book reviews. Though coverage is from 1949 to the present, not all publications begin in 1949.

  • ERIC Database (Full-Text)
    The ERIC Database contains more than 800,000 abstracts of documents and journal articles on education research and practice.  The database is updated monthly.

  • Family & Society Studies Worldwide
    This is a comprehensive resource of research, policy, and practice literature in the fields of Family Science, Human Ecology, and Human Development.  FSD provides over 167,000 abstracts and bibliographic records drawn from over a thousand professional journals, books, popular literature, conference papers, government papers, and other sources.

  • The Gale Encyclopedia of Mental Health
    Provides detailed information on mental disorders and conditions. Also features entries for prescription, alternative and over-the-counter drugs, as well as the various therapies used to treat mental disorders

  • Professional Collection
    Offers coverage in the following areas: arts and humanities; child and adolescent psychology and development; drug and alcohol abuse; health/nutrition/ fitness; learning disabilities; literature; school law; science and technology; social sciences; and sports/athletic training.

  • ProQuest Education Journals (full-text)
    Coverage: 1991 - present
    Gives users access to over 760 top educational publications, including more than 600 of the titles in full text.

  • ProQuest Psychology Journals (full-text)
    Coverage: 1971 - present
    Offers access to over 400 top psychology and related publications. Most are full text.

  • PsycARTICLES (best viewed using Netscape or Firefox browsers)
    The APA Full-Text Article Database contains the full text of articles from APA journals and selected EPF (Educational Publishing Foundation) journals.

  • PsycINFO (best viewed using Netscape or Firefox browsers)
    PsycINFO contains citations and summaries of journal articles, book chapters, books, and technical reports, as well as citations to dissertations, all in the field of psychology and psychological aspects of related disciplines, such as medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, physiology, linguistics, anthropology, business, and law.  Journal coverage, spanning 1887-present, includes international material selected from more than 1,300 periodicals written in over 25 languages.  Current chapter and book coverage includes worldwide English-language material published from 1987-present.  Over 55,000 references are added annually through monthly update.

  • RefWorks
    A Web-based bibliography and database manager that allows you to create your own personal database by importing references from text files or online databases. You can use these references in writing papers and automatically format the paper and the bibliography. To create an account from off-campus, you will need the RefWorks Group Code.

  • Sage Psychology Collection
    Electronic access to the full text of 30 peer-reviewed journal published by SAGE and other participating societies covering various aspects of psychology.

Obtaining Journal Articles

Check the journal list to see if the journal is available at Bethel Seminary Library.

St. Paul students:

  • If it is available online, follow the link to the appropriate database.
  • If it is in Bethel Seminary St. Paul print holdings (BSEM Periodicals), it will be on the display shelves around the fireplace or with the back copies of periodicals on the second floor.
  • If the journal title is not found or is not available at your library, fill out the online loan request form to request a copy of the article. The library staff will verify the location of the journal and request a copy through interlibrary loan.

San Diego students:

  • If it is available online, follow the link to the appropriate database.
  • If it is in Bethel Seminary San Diego print holdings (BSANDIEGO Periodicals), it will be on the display shelves on first floor or with the back copies of periodicals on third floor.
  • If the journal title is not found or is not available at your library, fill out the online loan request form to request a copy of the article. The library staff will verify the location of the journal and request a copy through interlibrary loan.
