The first stop on the tour is the circulation desk. This is where you can check out and return library materials, pick up books and articles requested from other libraries, and get books that your professors have placed on reserve. Be sure to always bring your Bethel ID card with you because it is also serves as your library card. You will not be able to check out material without your card. The DVD and CD collections are also kept at the circulation desk. |
Just past the circulation desk is the reference desk. The reference librarian is available to help you find material and assist you with your research. |
Many of our current periodicals are located on the shelves around the fireplace. All back issues of our periodicals are located on the second floor. |
The circular stairway takes you to the periodicals and computer lab upstairs. Photocopiers are located near the bottom of the stairway. An elevator is available in the addition. |
You will find study tables along the windows of the first floor. There is a wireless network access point in the main library building, so you can use your laptop to access library resources, Blackboard, printers, etc. The Reference collection is located here. This includes books such as commentaries, Bible dictionaries, and concordances. Reference books must be used in the library. The Main Collection also starts here. Books with the call numbers 001 through 229 are in this area. |
Next we will move to the addition. |
A glass walkway connects the main building to the addition. This area has books in the Main Collection with call numbers from 254 to 326.923. There are several study carrels and another wireless network access point here. The addition has movable compact shelving. Just turn the handle on the end of the stack to get to the book you need. An elevator connects the first floor to the basement and second floor. |
Many students find this a good place to study ... |
