Position: CPE (Unit of CPE in Social Justice Ministries)
Job Description: It will begin on January 25 and end on May 7, 2010. We will meet for 8 hours (8:30 to 4:30) on Tuesdays for our CPE Peer group. We will be meeting at St Joseph’s Children’s Home in south Minneapolis. In addition the clinical hours will be completed at the Catholic Charities programs in Mpls and St. Paul.  The clinical hours will be 20 hours per week.  This is a total of 28 hours a week for the 15 weeks of the CPE unit. Please note that this unit costs a total of $1000 and includes a $250 two day intensive training with Co-Founder of Narrative Therapy David Epston of New Zealand on Feb 4 & 5. This program is accredited by ACPE, Inc. and is a satellite of Fairview University CPE Center.

Position: CPE
Job Description: CPE interns serve as part of the Chaplain Service, and function as part of interdisciplinary treatment teams. They provide pastoral and spiritual care on a ward throughout the CPE unit and rotate through critical care and other wards. They share in coverage during regular hours for emergent care. Worship leadership includes a daily Interfaith Service/Reflection, a Protestant service and may include other worship.  Generally, twenty- four (24) clinical hours a week are spent in patient visitation, team meetings and rounds, and documenting visits. "Duty" hours begin at 7:30 am and end at 4:00 pm. Work schedules are set in conjunction with students' schedule requests. CPE Interns have option of conducting a Sunday service, giving a hospital-wide presentation, and will lead some weekday services.  Students complete one unit of Level I or Level II ACPE CPE. The System Center is accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. Basic Orientation is Sept 8-11, 2009, 7:30 am- 4:00 pm, and Sept 15, 9:30 am-2:00 pm. Group Seminar days are Tuesdays, 9:30 am- 1:30 pm, beginning September 21. Students receive at least 10 hours of individual supervision. The Minneapolis VAMC offers many outstanding educational opportunities related to physical, psychological and emotional health. The Chaplain Service is involved in research on Spirituality.  The unit begins September 8, 2009 and ends December 18, 2009.   Clinical hours and CPE schedule begin after Commissioning Sept 15. Job Description: Allina CPE Center, Twin Cities, Minnesota United Hospital, St. Paul Nine month Chaplain Resident position begins August 30, 2009. The United Hospital residency program (9/8/2009 - 6/4/2010) includes three units of ACPE accredited clinical pastoral education. The residency programs offer advanced, specialized training in clinical pastoral care, emphasizing spiritual/theological integration, ethical reflection, and pastoral leadership. Residents experience clinical assignments that provide in-depth exposure to specialty areas, enabling each student to become an integral part of the health care team.
