Church: Campbell United Church of Christ, 400 West Campbell Ave, Campbell, CA 95008 Position: Part time Youth and Family Minister Job Description: The purpose for this position is to nurture our children and their families as they grow in their faith, providing a safe and caring environment for learning and fellowship; To teach our children, youth and families how to deepen their Christian faith through fellowship, worship, and the search for understanding in an atmosphere of openness and inclusiveness; To challenge youth to respond with love and to reach out and affirm our friends and neighbors. Candidate Description: Committed to Jesus Christ; Theology and values in harmony with the congregation's mission, vision, and values; Understands this ministry description as being in alignment with personal vocational calling, skills, and ability to learn; Relational skills and motivational ability with children, youth, parents, staff and community; Can speak and lead from a language and experience of faith; Program planning, implementation, and communication skills; Understands faith development and various educational methods; Understands human development, culture, trends and family systems; Understands adolescent development, culture, and trends; Basic counseling, decision making, referral skills, and support services; Is a strong advocate for youth and their needs in the congregation and community.
