Position: Director of Ministerial Formation
Job Description: The position of Director of Ministerial Formation will begin the 2009-2010 academic year.  This person will have the responsibility of developing and carrying out programs of formation with and for the students of the Masters of Divinity Program at the Jesuit School of Theology.  The primary task of the person in this position is to work wiith students, and others substantially involved in the student’s formation, in crafting and individualized ministerial formation plan that builds on identified areas of strength as well as areas of growth.  The formation plan will provide unique and diverse opportunities that will challenge the student to enhance strengths, identifying new ones as well as addressing areas of growth with the goal of maximizing the ministerial potential of each student.  Areas of focus will include pastoral, human and spiritual formation, with an emphasis on integrating these with the intellectual and academic dimension of the individual student’s experience and aspirations.
Candidate Description: Applicants should have a strong background in supervision, group dynamics, discernment, and pastoral theology. Modalities of interaction will include field education placements and supervision, training of site supervisors, small group reflection, integration seminars, immersion programs, and teaching.  Qualifications include:A Roman Catholic; grounding in Ignatian spirituality and pastoral theology; significant pastoral experience (mentoring and supervisory experience preferred).  Facility in Spanish language would be desirable.  M.Div. or advanced  ministerial degree preferred.  The Director reports directly to the Academic Dean, and works collaboratively with appropriate administrators, faculty, and the Rector of the Jesuit Community.  Applicants should submit a letter of application which expresses the goals, the vision, and the qualifications of the candidate.  For further information and submission of materials, contact Professor John C.
