Church: Bethel Southern Baptist Church, 855 Brotherton Rd., Escondido, CA 92025 Position: Youth Minister (looking for a full time or interim position) Job Description: The (Interim) Associate Pastor, Minister of Youth is responsible for the development and promotion of Youth Activities within Bethel Baptist Church. Responsibilities: Ministerial: Walk privately and publicly with the Lord in study of the Word and prayer; Report directly to the Senior Pastor; Give spiritual counseling and guidance to unsaved youth; Visit members and prospects in homes and medical facilities; Give encouragement to members and prospects by telephone, through letters, emails and prayer; Develop a fun, exciting student ministry that is evangelistic in reaching the lost, and also challenges the student believers to live Christ-centered lives that intentionally draw non-believing students to Christianity; Lead an exciting and challenging weekly Bible Study for Youth Sunday School and Wednesday night, develop small Bible Study groups; Conduct student-based outreach activities and mission projects; Youth Activities: Spend time each week on local High School campuses; Participate in student activities such as Student Christian Clubs; Plan regularly scheduled fun youth activities, which always include at least a brief time of delivering dynamic truths and teaching from the Bible; Promote out of town trips financed through fundraisers that encourage young people to earn their way before participating. Candidate Description: Masters Degree in Theology or Graduate of a Theological Seminary; 3 to 5 years of experience in ministry, optional experience in contemporary worship leadership. Kai Tang (M Div Bethel, 1997) is the West Campus Pastor; George Cox (MATS Bethel, 2005) is the English Congregation Pastor. We are a non-denominational church in the evangelical tradition.
