Church: Grace Baptist Church, 390 North 400 East, Bountiful, Utah 84010
Position: Pastor
Job Description: Our church is small (about 75), leans white collar, ageing though vibrant in its (blended) worship, mission-minded, financially stable, and serves in a bedroom community north of Salt Lake City. It's an exciting mission context!  We are looking for a pastor who is an evangelistic minded motivator who trains us to see every person's needs as an opportunity for missions and who calls us to action out of our love and concern for others.  He will be sensitive to this culture and have an evangelistic vision for the LDS community we live in (a heart for the local people and an absence of "Mormon bashing" tendencies).  He will help us continue to create a sense of community with those outside our walls.  He will be developing a well-respected reputation in the community because this is who he is and it is important to him.  He will help the church continue to grow in a healthy way by starting "holistic small group" ministries.  He will mobilize us to welcome and connect newcomers and "oldcomers" to each other in the body.
Candidate Description: He has a passion for people and for God that is contagious and motivating to others.  His leadership style is empowering, servant-like and team-oriented.  He can and will hold us accountable while supporting, encouraging and loving us.  He will have at least five years of successful pastoral ministry, though not necessarily as "head pastor."  He should have worked well with those in administrative roles (coordinators, boards, committees, the music and worship team, etc.)  He should be seminary educated, committed to sound doctrine and solid bible teaching.  He must have the gift of exhortation.  He is someone who will motivate and train us to understand that we must continue changing into the likeness of Christ.  This growth and change is evidenced by our behavior with and towards each other.  He must be committed to the Conservative Baptist America doctrine and polity positions as well as its code of ethics, and able to sign Grace Baptist Church's doctrinal statement without reservation.

Church: Glastonbury Community Church, 113 Stancliff Road, Glastonbury, CT 06118
Position: Senior Pastor
Job Description: Glastonbury Community Church seeks a Senior Pastor to serve as shepherd and preaching elder. We are a community of approximately 100 people who are highly committed to the local body and desire to know, love, and serve God more deeply, and reach out to Glastonbury and the towns in which we live and work.
Candidate Description: As the Preaching Elder of the local church, the pastor shall adhere to the biblical standards for overseers found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7. We have developed a profile of other qualities that we believe should reside in the man God calls to our church. The first priority is ministry from the pulpit. The ideal pastor will have a strong faith in God and a burning desire to know and love Him more. His personal life should be marked by much prayer and study of God's Word. His preaching and teaching should be an outgrowth of his faith and study, as well as be Bible-centered and spur the congregation on to love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24). The pastor will equip the saints and desire accountability within the congregation. We also consider evangelism and outreach to be important, and look to the pastor to be the example and help us become more effective in reaching those in our communities. Experience in the Northeast is a plus, as this is a somewhat unique area in which to minister. Based on a congregational survey, we prefer (but do not require) a 30-45 year old seminary graduate with both secular and church work experience. We would specifically prefer a man gifted in preaching and evangelism/outreach, who also has visionary leadership capability. As stated earlier, above all other characteristics, the pastor should have a strong relationship with God and have excellent preaching skills. We would prefer that he be married and have children. The pastor's wife should be active in the life of the church; her education is not a critical concern, but a college degree would be beneficial. The pastor would be required to agree with and sign the EFCA Statement of Faith (2008 revision) and abide by the church constitution and by-laws. He would be expected to seek ordination with the EFCA, and support its district, national, and international work.
