Experience in the Northeast is a plus, as this is a somewhat unique area in which to minister. Based on a congregational survey, we prefer (but do not require) a 30-45 year old seminary graduate with both secular and church work experience. We would specifically prefer a man gifted in preaching and evangelism/outreach, who also has visionary leadership capability. As stated earlier, above all other characteristics, the pastor should have a strong relationship with God and have excellent preaching skills. We would prefer that he be married and have children. The pastor's wife should be active in the life of the church; her education is not a critical concern, but a college degree would be beneficial. The pastor would be required to agree with and sign the EFCA Statement of Faith (2008 revision) and abide by the church constitution and by-laws.
