Position: Associate Pastor of Worship and Family Ministries
Job Description: We are a non-denominational, Christ-centered, Bible-teaching Family Fellowship in the beautiful resort-retirement community of Sunriver, Oregon, 15 miles south of Bend, Oregon (pop. 80K). Our purpose is to transform lives through the truth of the Word. Our church is committed to clear and compelling expository preaching, multi-generational community, and discipleship of all ages. Our worship in song is a combination of lyrically solid music and lyrics from both the past and present, put into fresh arrangements.  We are committed to sound doctrine and equipping the saints for the work of service to the building up of the body of Christ (Eph. 4:11-16).
Candidate Description: This pastor will develop and implement an overall ministry that will promote within the congregation, wholesome and biblically sound worship experiences, both on an individual and corporate basis.  Such worship services will be God-centered, Christ-exalting and Scripture-saturated so as to lead the body, through prayer, vocal and instrumental music, drama, and Scripture reading, toward a passion for God and His glory.  As a second area of focus, this pastor will lead, promote and oversee the spiritual formation of families and youth by teaching them to worship, learn and obey the Word, win others to Christ, serve the body and participate in biblical community.  As a pastor, he will lovingly shepherd the young families in the church, providing needed counsel, encouragement and exhortation.  He will also strategically plan and execute "bridge-building" events for families outside the church so as to help facilitate evangelism and extend the outreach of our church into the community. It also requires exceptional organizational and coordination skills to effectively execute two distinctly different services each week.
Candidate Description: The Worship Pastor needs to be a spiritual leader, mentor and a developer of other believer's gifts and talents in worship ministries. As such, he/she needs to be spiritually mature, relational, compassionate and patient. Since worship is a collaborative effort, the Worship Pastor also needs to be a humble team player who can work effectively with both professional staff and volunteer leaders.  Because of the breadth of this position, qualifications include: significant musical training with a preference for a degree in some aspect of music; some formal biblical training and a clear theology of worship; significant experience working with SATB choir or ensembles; a good understanding and comfort with computer and instrumental/sound technologies as applying to worship; a vision for future worship opportunities and a willingness to experiment with new ideas.
