Church: Jacob's Well, Minneapolis, MN Position: Worship Leader and/or Intern (part-time) Job Description: Jacob's Well is a church plant on the campus of the University of Minnesota. We gather on Sunday nights at 7pm. We are looking for someone able to recruit and develop the musicians of Jacob's Well by working to put together the music for the weekly gatherings. This would require a one evening a week for practice time, and then set-up, sound check, and music on Sunday evenings. Over our first two years, music has looked like anything from a full band (electric guitar, the works) to a hand drum, violin, and acoustic guitars. We are definitely modern and contemporary, and more important to us than style is quality. We are looking for an intern that could commit their spring semester to us, with the possibility of a more permanent relationship evolving. Candidate Description: Student or seminary student. Male or female. Candidate must have a heart to break from Christian bubble to engage our surrounding culture. This is at the core of who Jacob's Well is. We don't want to be another Christian club or bubble. Church: Wooddale Church, 6630 Shady Oak Rd., Eden Prairie, MN 55344 Position: Senior High Program Associate/Intern Job Description: The Senior High Program Associate will assist the Senior High Pastor in giving direction and ministry to senior high youth, their families, and the senior high ministry volunteer staff. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Spend adequate time with senior high youth and families to know individuals and minister to them. 2. Develop ministry programs as requested. 3. Participate in the recruitment, training and supervision of volunteer staff and sponsors. 4. Participate in the integration of fellowship, discipleship, and evangelism into all programs. 5. Encourage church membership and ministry among youth. 6. Participate in the development and maintenance of written coordinated programs for senior high ministries. 7. Church: Elim Church, NE Minneapolis Position: ECY (Elim Church Youth) Pastoral Intern (part-time) Job Description: Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Recruiting youth participants and college-age volunteers; Coordinating programmatic events such as Bible study, service projects and academic support sessions; Teaching and leading weekly large/small group sessions; Marketing the program and gaining community support/sponsorship; Managing a substantial budget; Managing a team of volunteers. The Pastoral Intern position is 20 hours per week, through August 31, 2010. The majority of hours will fall on weekday afternoons and evenings, as well as Sundays. Hours will fluctuate during the summer and school year. The Pastoral Intern will be paid on an hourly basis at $10 per hour and is not eligible for benefits. Church: St. James Episcopal Church, 4201 Sheridan Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN 55410 Position: Intern Job Description: St. James is looking for an intern to assist in their Teens Class called Journey to Adulthood - the second two years of a 6 year curriculum. This program is focused on expanding the kid's horizons on Self, Society, Sexuality, Spirituality with the expanding skills of Listening, Negotiating, Assertion, Information (finding and using), Partnership and Leadership skills within the context of the Faith Church Community. For the fall semester our focus will be "Self". There are 9 kids ages 13-16 and class times are 12-1:30pm every other Sunday for a total of 7 class sessions. This is a fun, energetic, seriously curious and well bonded group. Service Sundays are the second Sunday of the month from 9:30am-10:20am and the Teens are involved in planning and implementing these sessions. All the other children at St. James participate in the Service Sundays. Our focus for the year is our ongoing commitment to the Millennium Development Goals. Our worship service is from 10:30-11:45(usually). We are able to commit to 27 hours from Sept.-Dec. It would include a combination of Class time, Service Sunday time and St. James Worship time. We would like to start the calendar on Sept 13th from 9:30am-1:30pm. We would establish a calendar of exact times for Oct.-Dec. This additional time spent with the rest of the St. James community is an important part of the relationship we would build with you. Class time responsibilities would include being an active partner with Karin Spence (the Teen leader). We would have a working partnership in idea generation and presentation of the J2A lesson plans. There would be additional support and assistance from the Education Committee and the parents of the Teen groups when needed or requested. There are about 70 adults involved in our congregation. We have a number of internships available for students who are looking for credit or would like to work with a church to gain experience. The different interns we are looking for are: 1.) Youth Intern – a student to work with our Youth Director and work on building the Senior High Youth Group, possibly being the group coordinator. 2.) Education/Children's Ministry Intern – a student who can take charge of this ministry, developing Sunday School, Pioneer Club, etc. 4.) Worship Intern – a student who might take charge and help give direction in our worship services. 5.)
