- Research and provide the "stories" and ministry reports that drive the various means of Wooddale Worldwide communication at Wooddale Church. These include written publications, videos, internet and other communications.
- Work closely with the Wooddale Worldwide team to review ongoing communications from Global Partners looking for those items that need to be communicated to the wider Wooddale family.
Develop, maintain and oversee the implementation of a communications plan for Wooddale Worldwide using age and life-stage appropriate means for making Wooddale people aware of local and global ministry opportunities and trends, as well as the stories coming from ministries / persons of Wooddale Church. Means will include:
- The Wooddale web site
- The Wooddale Week and targeted e-mails
- Ministry videos and video faith stories for use in Big Groups, Small Groups, children's and youth ministries, and worship
- Event or activity promotional materials for Wooddale publications
- New tools to connect Wooddalers to Wooddale Global Partners
- Facilitate the production of communications items e.g., publications, videos and the Wooddale Worldwide web page, using volunteers, Wooddale staff and outside contractors as needed. Develop a ministry team of volunteers to assist in these productions.
- Support the Worship Arts Team and Wooddale Communication Departments by providing Wooddale Worldwide input as required.
- Take a lead role in promoting Missions events at Wooddale Church, including Worldwide Week, the Summer Missions Festival and Worldwide fund-raising.
- Participate in other pastoral and ministry tasks as assigned by the Pastor, Wooddale Worldwide, the Executive Pastor for Program Ministry, or the Senior Pastor.
Candidate Description:
- Baccalaureate degree in journalism, communications, or design.
- Demonstrated ability to research and document ministry events, circumstances, stories and activities in a manner that can be produced and communicated using varied media forms including printed materials, AV, social media and the internet.
- The ability to lead, design and facilitate technical people in designing and producing publications, videos, web communications, and graphics in a timely manner.
- An understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of various communications media to communicate to select audiences and situations.
- An understanding of or desire to learn cross-cultural and international ministry.
- Subscribe to and affirm the Statement of Faith and Covenant of Wooddale Church.
- Become and remain a member in good standing of Wooddale Church.
