Church: Grace Evangelical Free Church, Fridley, MN
Position: Student Ministries Associate
Open To: Women
Job Description: Jesus says in John 10:10 that His primary purpose for coming to earth was in order to give people a spiritually rich and satisfying life. That is why ZAO (life), the student ministries program of Grace Evangelical Free Church, is looking to hire a Female Student Ministries Associate who is passionate and committed to helping young women find and experience life in Jesus Christ.

Our purpose is to find (Mt. 28:16-20; Lk. 5:31-32), keep (Heb. 10:24-25, Js. 5:19-20), and grow (Gal. 5:22-23, 2 Pt. 3:17-18) teenagers for the glory of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to challenge and motivate youth to live and enjoy life to its fullest by encouraging them to discover and encounter the abundant way, truth, and life that Jesus Christ has to offer. We will strive to do this by offering programming and events that will be solely centered around trying to remind the youth who come through our doors that they are: lovable (Jn 3:16), capable (Phil. 4:13), worthwhile (Mt. 10:26-31), and not alone (Deut. 31:6).
Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Become an "expert" in understanding and reaching students in their social, physical, and spiritual context.
  2. Provide care, discipleship, and mentoring for our 6th-12th grade girls.
  3. Provide strategic leadership for ZAO.
  4. Show willingness and initiative to grow both personally and professionally.

GEFC values youth ministry so much that along with having a full time Pastor of Student Ministries, we also have a part time Male Associate, and a quarter time Youth Worship Coordinator who are committed to relational and incarnational ministry. While numbers, flashiness, and fun matter to most youth groups, the youth ministry staff at GEFC are more concerned and determined to help teenagers build a solid foundation in their walk with Christ that will last a lifetime and to notice how He and the Holy Spirit are actively present in their daily lives. Anything that is healthy will naturally grow over time. We believe that adding a female member to our staff will foster and warrant spiritual and physical growth in our group. This is a part-time (28 hrs/month) paid position without benefits. Our desire is for this position to eventually grow into a full time role but this will be contingent upon ministry success and growth.

Candidate Description: Candidate will work as a member of the ZAO student ministry staff and help foster physical, emotional, and spiritual growth and development in the hearts and lives of the teenagers of GEFC. This position would be a great place for someone who is beginning in ministry and wants to learn and grow in her ministry abilities.
