Organization: Sharon Morey Ministries Position: Ramsey County Jail Ministry Volunteers Job Description: I am the team lead for the Ramsey County Jail Ministry and have been involved with this ministry coming into my fourth year. We preach and teach to the inmates every Wednesday night. Currently we have five volunteers that preach and teach seven sessions. We are looking to increase this ministry by five to ten volunteers. We would like two leaders in each section and also to increase the current session from seven to ten. Ramsey County allows ten inmates at a time to come to Bible Study and they are so very hungry for the Word of God. This would be a wonderful opportunity to gain experience in preaching and teaching while helping the community turn their lives around. Requirements for this ministry are: Filling out an application; Meeting with the Team Leadership of Ramsey County Bible Study Ministry for an initial interview; Complete a back ground check; Complete one "Prison Fellowship Orientation" which falls on a Saturday; Commit to a once month volunteer staff meeting which will be starting sometime this summer for an hour to an hour and a half just prior to going in; Going in would start in October 1st whereby new volunteers would be teamed up with experienced volunteers and ministry and training would be on going. This is a wonderful ministry and I know for myself I really dragged my feet getting into this but once here I have come to really love the time and experience this has given me to do further ministry for the Lord in other areas and places world-wide. I have evangelized all over the world from Ramsey County! I am interested in students that would commit a maximum of every week for one year and a minimum of once every other week for one year.
