Job Description: Wooddale Church is seeking a young adult passionate about working with junior high school students in the local church. This person will minister by developing relationships with 7th-9th grade students and their parents, coordinating and executing ministry events, and equipping and training volunteers. This person will work closely with the Junior High Pastor while also gaining exposure to the entire church ministry. The position is for current students and is designed to be half-time during the school year and full-time during the summer months.

Responsibilities of the position:
Worship (around 15 hours)

  3. Coordinate set up of sound equipment and stage, as well as take-down.
  4. Worship Leadership

    1. Select songs and determine flow of music
    2. Direct practices and Sunday morning worship.
  5. Oversight of ministry budget.

Youth (around 25 hours)

  1. Meet with Pastor/Elder to communicate vision and direction of ministry.
  2. Volunteer recruitment, training, scheduling, and relationship.
  3. Help develop and implement strategies to reach unchurched youth
  4. Help develop and implement strategies to disciple Christian youth
  5. Oversight of ministry budget. 

Candidate Description: Qualifications:

  1. Musically gifted and trained.
  2. Gifted to evangelize and disciple middle school and high school youth.
  3. Degree in an area of ministry or music, or equivalent experience preferred.
  4. Ability to oversee contemporary worship ministry of the church and supporting technology.
  5. Ability to oversee ministry to middle school and high school youth.
  6. Experience incorporating volunteer musicians into worship ministry, and volunteer leaders into youth ministry preferred.
  7. Willing to support the church constitution, statement of faith, and policies and become a member.
  8. A love of Jesus Christ and the people of Cornerstone Church.
