One of the keys to effective ministry is accurate self-knowledge. Paul speaks of this in Romans 12:3 "Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but think of yourself with sober judgment..." One of the primary goals of the professional internship is to develop a broad range of ministry skills and experience. In twenty hours a week it is unrealistic to expect that the student will be exposed to every facet of pastoral work.
