Application Process

You may also request that an application be sent to you by filling out our Request for Additional Information online form.

Completed applications must be submitted by the following deadlines:

  • March 1 for a July start
  • September 1 for a January start

Bethel Seminary is a ministry of the churches of the Baptist General Conference, is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools, which is the national accrediting agency for theological schools in the United States and Canada, and by the Commission on Institutions of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.We offer courses at the master and doctoral levels and admit qualified students regardless of race, color, national or ethnic origin, age, gender, or disability.

Admission Requirements

The following are required for admission into the D.Min. program:

  1. A Master of Divinity degree or its equivalent from an accredited school, with a grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. M.Div. equivalency is appropriate for those applicants who have not completed the M.Div. degree but who have at least a two-year graduate degree from an accredited seminary. Satisfaction of course requirements in core areas with a minimum of 128 quarter hours is required to attain equivalency.
  2. A minimum of three years in some form of professional ministry.
  3. A personal statement detailing ministry experience (4-6 pages) and stating objectives for the D.Min. program (3-5 pages).
  4. Specified letters of reference.
  5. A statement of support from your church board or governing board of the institution within which you are serving.
