Bethel Seminary San Diego

Supervised Ministry

Preacher

Do you want to know what internships are like?  Has your church (or para-church organization) been invited to host a seminary student intern?  The purpose of this website is to acquaint you with our Supervised Ministry programs, to answer any questions you may have, and to solicit your input.  We trust this website will facilitate the preparation of students for ministry, as we partner together.

Find ministry workers for your church

  • Bethel Seminary San Diego has 198 students representing a variety of denominations
  • Bethel students intern in local San Diego churches as part of their seminary training

Interns serve in many capacities

  • Pastor
  • Assistant Pastor
  • Christian Education Director
  • Youth Minister
  • Missions Director
  • Evangelism Director
  • Or Other Ministry Position

Internships can be volunteer or salaried positions

  • First year students are available to intern for five months at 10-15 hours per week (these are usually volunteer positions)
  • Students nearing graduation are available to intern for nine months at 15-20 hours per week (these are salaried positions)

This website services two distinctly different classroom experiences.  Before going further please confirm which of the following two classes is pertinent to your situation:

TL551

is a preliminary observation/participation internship for beginning students.  For official description click here to hyperlink to the Bethel Seminary catalog.

TL552A-C

is a professional, remunerated internship preparing graduating students for future leadership in diverse ministries.  For official description click here to hyperlink to the Bethel Seminary catalog.

Please click TL551 or TL552A-C depending on the enrollment of the intern.  If uncertain whether your intern is TL551 or TL552A-C, please check with your intern for verification.
