Bethel Seminary

InMinistry Master of Divinity

Developed in 1994, Bethel’s Master of Divinity program lets you complete your training for ministry while continuing in ministry. You won’t need to move to Bethel to complete your degree, because the program is designed for ministry professionals and ministry-active lay leaders. With the combination of fully distance courses and those requiring on-campus intensives, you can take seven courses a year and complete the M.Div. in approximately five years.

While participating in a well-rounded generalist program, students select an area of emphasis from one of Bethel’s three academic centers—Biblical and Theological Foundations, Transformational Leadership, or Spiritual and Personal Formation. Students find that the program has immediate and powerful applications in their present ministry contexts.

Program Course Offerings

Earn a Master of Divinity from Bethel Seminary in approximately five years through a combination of Internet-mediated distance education and on-campus intensives. All courses entail active use of distance technologies—encouraging regular online dialogue between students and faculty.

*NOTE: Running concurrently with the annual schedule are contextualized learning components which are completed entirely at a distance—one each year in the Master of Divinity program.

**It is possible to take up to two intensives during the winter and summer quarters. The on-campus components of these courses are scheduled for consecutive weeks.

Students wanting to take out a student loan must be continuously enrolled in the program, taking at least two courses each winter and summer term and taking at least one course each spring and fall term.

Students and graduates say:

InMinistry faculty are very intentional about developing my Christian faith and making it relevant to the real world. It’s not just a head experience; it’s a heart experience.

Frank Gomes

The most exciting thing about Bethel’s InMinistry program for me is the immediate application. I am immediately able to take what I’m learning in my course work back to my ministry and put it into practice.

Nancy Leafblad

If you feel God has led you to remain in your current ministry and pursue a seminary education, this is the program to attend. Bethel is not just going to fill you with knowledge, but will nourish your spirit so you can be a leader for Jesus Christ.

John Nelson
